Thoughts Of Devotion:

How important it is to pray for the will of God to be fulfilled. This lesson is one we learn from the first disciples of Jesus. They desired to know the will of God, especially in the decisions that could affect the future of the mission. We see that the disciples had learned this principle from Jesus when we read, in Luke 6:12-13 it tells us, “Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. 13 And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles.”

The disciples following the example of Jesus prayed for the will of God in choosing new leadership. They understood it was the Holy Spirit that consecrated men for the task! In Acts 13:2-3 it teaches us this, “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.”

Today we need to know the will of God in every aspect of our life and ministry. We cannot commit the error of doing things that are not in the plans or in the will of God. Let us remember the warning of Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” On this day it is necessary to seek the will of God, before any other thing! The Holy Spirit desires to lead our walk, he is our Guide and Comforter! Put all your trust in God, he will take you through the correct path, into green pastures, filled with his blessing and provision!

Philippians 4:6(NKJV)6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
