Thoughts of Devotion:
What a special promise, Jesus is coming again! He ascended into heaven, but promised to return to us. In the same way he returned to heaven, he will return once more. In Revelation 1:7 it tells us, “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” There will come a day and time in which Jesus will return once again to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For the second time, He will return in the same way he ascended into the clouds.
More than two thousand years have passed since the Lord made this promise, but it still stands! In 2 Peter 3:8-9 it tells us, “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.“ If He promised to return once more to this earth, He will, this is for sure! His promise will be fulfilled and every eye will see it.
Today we must be ready. We have a promise that prior to his second coming, he will gather his elect, the church. This event, as believers, is anticipated. It is the rapture of the church! This will happen before His second coming; it will be only His chosen.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 tells us so, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
For this reason we must work for the Lord with fire and passion. We cannot stay looking up at the sky waiting for his coming. You need to work with passion to spread the gospel throughout the world. The mission of Jesus requires people who strive and sacrifice everything for the sake of Jesus. He is coming soon, and the day will come when he takes us and we will be with him for eternity. But until this day, the mission still stands!
Philippians 3:20-21 (NKJV) —20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Revelation 3:10 (NKJV) —10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Mark 13:26 (NKJV) — 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Revelation 1:7 (NKJV) — 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
