Thoughts of Devotion:
The church of the Book of Acts showed the example of a triumphant, victorious and overcoming church. There were no obstacles to could stop it from its mission. No barrier, whether it be national, religious, cultural, or even racial could thwart the advance of the gospel. They filled every place with the gospel, as Romans 15:19 tells us, “in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.” Although the opposition came to the lives of many believers, they continued with even greater momentum!
The disciples understood that it would not be easy to fulfill the mission Jesus had given them. They persevered in the task, were certain that at the end of the day the church would not be defeated, but would be victorious against all opposition! In 2 Corinthians 2:14 he says to us, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” The victory was guaranteed and the mission of Jesus was going to be fulfilled with certainty. Through the Power of the Holy Spirit there would be no barrier to stop the advance of the gospel.
Today we are called to walk in victory, the Lord’s church is called to triumph over the power of the enemy. In Romans 8:37 it tells us, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” We are the victors, there is no room for retreat or to even give up, the church will never be defeated! The victory is on the way, victory is today… if we just continue fighting the good fight of faith. Now is the time to defeat all lies of the enemy and declare victory in Christ Jesus!
Acts 16:5 (NKJV) — 5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.

Acts 5:11 (NKJV) — 11 So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.
Acts 6:7 (NKJV) — 7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.
Acts 12:24 (NKJV) — 24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
Colossians 2:15 (NKJV) —15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV) — 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
