Psalms 103:13 (NLT) — The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
Thank God that we have God as our Father. He is a loving and compassionate Father toward us. Whenever He sets His sights on us, He remembers that we are only dust. In Psalm 103:14 we are told, “because He knows our frame, He remembers that we are dust”. This is our true condition, He sees that our days are short and no doubt one day our path here on earth will come to an end. This is what we Psalm 103:15-16 declares, “man, like grass are his days as the flower blooms the field, the wind passeth over it, and gone, and its place remembers it no more”.
This truth must always be present in our lives. Our condition before an Almighty God, we are like dust, dirt! But yet God has compassion on us and sees us as children. 1 John 3:1 tells us, “behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God.”. What a blessing to have a Father in heaven. His love is tender and compassionate towards each of us. His love is demonstrated toward us daily as He protects and nourishes us. Thank God that He never fails to watch over us and keep in His care! On this day the Lord sees our weaknesses and shortcomings, and has great compassion for us.
Seeing this, it’s very important to recognize that something is going to be required of those who desire the care of the Lord. It is essential to understand that the fear of God should always be present in us. If we have the help and care of our Father in heaven, it is essential that we have a reverence and godly fear. In Psalm 147:11 we are told, “The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.” May our prayer this day be that God may have compassion on us. That in our lives we may have reverence and fear of the Lord.
Malachi 3:17 (NKJV) — “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
1 John 3:1 (NKJV) — Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Psalms 147:11 (NKJV) — The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.
Proverbs 3:12 (NKJV) — For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Matthew 6:9 (NKJV) — In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
