Thoughts of Devotion:
How difficult it is when you receive bad news. The moment when our mind is flooded with so many negative thoughts and we don’t know what to do, or what steps to take. Fear seems to take possession of our hearts. It’s in these moments when many times our inner being is affected and everything seems to be falling apart in front of our eyes. We are asking the same questions that the Psalmist asked in Psalm 43:5, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.”
There is only one thing to do when we think the worst will happen to us, and we find ourselves with bad news around us. The only thing we could do in those circumstances in life is trust God, Trust in Him despite our fears and insecurities! We must remember what Isaiah 12:2 tells us, “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’” Thank God that at all times we can be confident, He will always be our strength, and no fear will will be able to dominate our lives!
Today our hearts may be strong in God, despite all that comes against us in this life. Our firmness will never be touched when we have God as our trust and security. You just have to sit at his feet and listen to His Word, “But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.” (Proverbs 1:33). By the strength that God gives us we can have peace and quiet! He alone can give us peace in the midst of any situation we are facing this morning. Pray that our trust is in God fully, and trust that everything will be fine.
Proverbs 1:33 (NKJV) — 33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”
Psalm 56:4 (NKJV) — 4 In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Psalm 25:2 (NKJV) — 2 O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me.
Isaiah 12:2 (NKJV) — 2 Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”
Psalm 56:3 (NKJV) — 3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
