Thoughts Of Devotion:
Nothing this morning can compare to the peace of God when it rests on our lives. His peace is what makes the difference between those who walk overwhelmed and worried, with those that are peaceful and calm. David had to deal with this, when he declared, “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God “(Psalm 42:11) There will be moments that circumstances will want to bring us down and make us lose our hope and trust in God. It is in these difficult times that we can rest in His Peace!
How can we obtain this peace? The word of God teaches us that it is only through our trust and faith in God that we will have peace. Jesus promised us in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. “Thank God for the peace that Jesus offers! When we trust in Him, His peace floods us and gives us a security to face any situation whether difficult or impossible. Our faith in God will produce an inner peace in us, even when our world around us may seem to be falling apart.
God wants to shower us with His peace today. His desire for us is that we wouldn’t walk overwhelmed by our situation. There is no reason for that when our faith is founded on God. His peace surpasses all human reasoning. In Philippians 4:7 we are told, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” When things do not make sense and the enemy desires to bring confusion to our lives, our faith in God will infuse us with His peace! Let us pray that this morning our hope and trust in God is secure, in doing this we will enjoy his peace.
