Your Life Is Hidden With Christ

Topic: In the New Life, We are hidden in Christ!

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:3 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

1 Samuel 24-26

 Bible Versions:

Colossians 3:3 (NIV) — For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:3 (MSG)— 3 Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:3 (NLT) — For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

Thoughts Of Devotion:

As we begin our new life in Christ it is necessary to recognize that we no longer live for ourselves. Our life doesn’t belong to us anymore, on the contrary, we have died and now live for God. In Galatians 2:20 it tells us, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Today we have been crucified to the world, now we belong completely to God!

Now our life is not lead by our desires and pleasures, but by the will of God! We are exclusively the Lord’s and our life is  hidden and guarded by God. Our new life is centered on the person of Jesus, outside of him there is no life! We have been resurrected to a new life that doesn’t compare to anything in this world. In Ephesians 2:6 it tells us, “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Our place in this new life is the heavenly places in communion with the Lord.

We have a confidence in God, no one can harm us or hurt us, we are hidden with God, His protection is unique! Our identity is found only in Jesus. We can be rejected by this world, but we are acceptable before the eyes of the Lord. This is most important, our reputation before God and not men. We live for God and not for this world! So let’s give less importance to the world and its desires and live it all for God. For the world we have ceased to exist when we give our lives to God.

In conclusion, although we are in the world and live in Him, we are not of this world! As John 17:14-16 tells us, “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Thank God we have an eternal home, a dwelling not made with hands. At the end of history, this world and everything that is here will pass, but we have our promise of eternal life, our lives will remain hidden in God!

Foundational Scriptures:

Romans 6:2 (NKJV) — Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

2 Corinthians 5:14 (NKJV) — 14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;

Romans 6:8 (NKJV) — Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) — 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) — and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
