and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Daily Reading Plan
Colossians 3:10 (NLT) — Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
Ephesians 4:24 (NLT) — Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
In order to continue in the process of being conformed to the image of Christ, we must “put on the new man”. Thank God for the new thing He gives us! The Apostle Paul in the previous verse reminds believers to discard the past, “But now you also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth” (Col. 3:8). The Apostle Paul recognized that if they did not let go of the inclinations of the “old man” it would be very difficult if not impossible to become more like Christ in their daily lives.
The blessing and benefit of leaving the sins and habits of the “old man” is that we will put on the new nature, which is made in the image of Christ. God has prepared a new work in us, and as a result we will be formed more into his image. His promise is that He will do something new in us, “and I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them, and remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” ( Ez. 11:19).
Thank God that every day we are being renewed and formed in the image of Christ. The old man has been removed and we now enjoy a new garment! Let us pray that this inner work continue from day to day, never being conforming with where we are. Remember what it says 2 Corinthians 4:16, “Therefore do not lose heart, but though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” Every day that goes by we are being developed into new men and women in Christ. Progress is daily, and with the help of God we will come to be more like Him
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NKJV) — Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
Ezekiel 11:19 (NKJV) — Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,
Romans 13:14 (NKJV) — But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
Romans 6:4 (NKJV) — Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
