John 1:13 (NIV) ― 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Thoughts of Devotion:
The new birth is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. It didn’t happen by physical descent, effort or human will but through the power of God. We were not fathered by the will of man, but of God! It’s been an exclusively divine work that God has done in us as believers giving us a new life. In John 1:12 it tells us, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” God himself constituted us new creatures, begotten by Him. God Himself started our spiritual birth, and today we are new creatures by the Holy Spirit in us.
Being born as children we have experienced a radical change, we have passed the dominion of sin to the dominion of the Spirit; now we are not in darkness or sin, but we are under the dominion of the Holy Spirit and we have started the process of growth and spiritual development. Our goal is to become more like Christ in our daily walk. We were born of the Spirit as John 3:6-7 tells us, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’”
When we were begotten as children we become part of a new family, we become the family of God! We have brothers and sisters in faith as it is declared in Ephesians 2:19, “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” Thank God that we are not alone but we have a new family of faith. We have one Father, we have a new citizenship and our destiny is to dwell together for eternity. This is not done by human will, but by the will of God. To Him be all the glory and honor for eternity!
John 1:12 (NKJV) ― 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
John 3:6-7 (NKJV) ― 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
John 3:8 (NKJV) ― 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
James 1:18 (NKJV) ― 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
1 Peter 1:23 (NKJV) ― 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
John 3:5 (NKJV) ― 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
