Thoughts Of Devotion:

This morning, there’s a treasure that God has in heaven! The Bible describes this treasure as good, inexhaustible, generous, rich, and wonderful. It is a rich storehouse of blessings for his people. In this treasure is every blessing that God prepared beforehand for those who love him. His riches will never be exhausted, on the contrary God promises to pour out blessing upon blessing if we put our dependence on Him. The blessings will abound as Deuteronomy 30:9 tells us, “The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers.”

We are blessed to have a Father in heaven serving us and providing for our needs. His good treasure pours out showers of blessings upon his people. For this reason we must remove our gaze from earthly treasures, and look to the treasures in heaven like Matthew 6:19-20 tells us, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

In 2016 God wants to open his good treasure and pour out showers of blessings on our lives. When he decides to open his good treasure, be ready, because there will be no place to store your blessings! In Isaiah 30:23, it promises us, “Then He will give the rain for your seed With which you sow the ground, And bread of the increase of the earth; It will be fat and plentiful. In that day your cattle will feed In large pastures.” Pray that this morning we can experience the heavens opened, times of superabundant blessing upon us. We must commit ourselves with God to live obedient lives, only then will we see His promise fulfilled!

Foundational Scriptures:

Matthew 19:21-22 (NKJV) — 21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Mark 10:21 (NKJV) — 21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

Luke 12:33 (NKJV) — 33 Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.

Psalm 67:6-7 (NKJV) — Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Leviticus 26:4New King James Version (NKJV) — then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Deuteronomy 15:6 (NKJV) — For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.

Deuteronomy 30:9 (NKJV) — The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers,

Jeremiah 10:13 (NKJV) — 13 When He utters His voice, There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:“And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain,He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

Jeremiah 31:12 (NKJV) — 12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the Lord— For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all.

Malachi 3:12 (NKJV) — 12 “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Psalm 65:9-13 (NKJV) — You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it. 10 You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth. 11 You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance. 12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side. 13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.

  1. I am ready for God to pour out his good treasure over my life! But I must not be attracted to the worldly treasures that aren’t of good

  2. When God opens the gates of heaven he brings the best and if God has a treasure for us who wouldn’t want that ,our prayer should ask God he’s blessing he’s treasure for us .Amen

  3. Amen this really sticks with me because it shows that there is so much to look forward to in the future, knowing that God will supply directly from his greatness!!!
