I Will Save You And You Shall Be A Blessing

Topic: From Being Cursed, To Being A Blessing!

13 And it shall come to pass That just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands be strong.’

Zechariah 8:13 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Numbers 30-31

Bible Versions:

Zechariah 8:13 (NIV) ― 13 Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse among the nations, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing.[b] Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.”

Zechariah 8:13 (NLT) ― 13 Among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. But no longer! Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So don’t be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the Temple!

Zechariah 8:13 (MSG) ― You’ve gotten a reputation as a bad-news people, you people of Judah and Israel, but I’m coming to save you. From now on, you’re the good-news people. Don’t be afraid. Keep a firm grip on what I’m doing.”

Thoughts of Devotion:

When one stops to think about our past life, one can truly say that we really didn’t live, we had existence but we did not have life! Without God life was a misery, filled with countless misfortunes. One can clearly see that the human being, without the abundant life offered by Jesus Christ, is incomplete. Without Christ we were under the curse of sin, dead without hope! As Ephesians 2:1-2 tells us “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.”

But now that we have come to Christ, we are a model of blessing! Now people can see us and we are no longer the same as before. We are a testimony of a life that God has changed, and not just changed but also blessed! We are no longer under the curse of the past, we are new creatures as it states in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Today we enjoy the benefits of a new life in Christ Jesus. An abundant life where God has promised us that his blessings will overflow.

Today I invite you to experience all the blessings God has prepared for your life. Without Christ, we went from bad to worse, but now it’s totally different, now we go from glory to glory! Our future is one filled with hope and blessing. When Christ entered our lives everything changed, we now live under His blessings and are a trophy of God’s grace. In Malachi 3:12, he promises that “all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.” Thank God that in 2016 we can be a witness to the world of a God who not only changes a life, but also blesses and prospers.

Foundational Scriptures:

Genesis 12:2 (NKJV) ― I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.

Psalm 72:17 (NKJV) ― 17 His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; All nations shall call Him blessed.

Galatians 3:14 (NKJV) ― 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Zechariah 8:14-15 (NKJV) ― 14 “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Just as I determined to punish you When your fathers provoked Me to wrath,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘And I would not relent, 15 So again in these days I am determined to do good To Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear.

Deuteronomy 28:63 (NKJV) ― 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess.
