You Will Not Be Blessed At The End

Topic:  Don’t Try To Rush Your Blessing

An inheritance gained hastily at the beginning Will not be blessed at the end.

Proverbs 20:21

Daily Reading Plan

 Numbers 8-10

Bible Versions:

Proverbs 20:21(NIV) – 21  An inheritance claimed too soon will not be blessed at the end.

Proverbs 20:21 (MSG) – 21  A bonanza at the beginning is no guarantee of blessing at the end.

Proverbs 20:21(NLT) – 21  An inheritance obtained too early in life is not a blessing in the end.

Thoughts Of Devotion:

Everything that God provides and brings to our lives in time, will be a great blessing. God certainly knows the right time to bless us, He is never late! In James 5:7 it tells us, “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.” Sometimes we must learn the lesson of waiting on God. Do not try to move his blessing, but just wait and understand that everything has its time and moment in God’s plan for our lives.

There are people who rush, and at the end of it all it ruins the blessing of God for them. The blessing of God never realizes in their lives, because they are quick on their own strength to get it. Proverbs 28:20 reminds us that “faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” There are consequences when we decided to take matters into our own hands, instead of allowing God to work in His own way and in His divine time. Today is not the time to hasten the blessings of God on our lives, God does not need our help!

All we can do this morning is to keep trusting and hoping in Him. We cannot go running after our dreams, goals and desires the way the world does, we are very different! We completely depend on God for our blessing. And if He does not bless the things we face in life, then we do not want to have anything to do with it. Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.” We clearly understand that God wants to bless us, and certainly in His perfect timing his blessing will come.

Foundational Scriptures:

Proverbs 21:5 (NKJV) – 5  The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.

Proverbs 23:5 (NKJV) – 5  Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

Proverbs 23:4 (NKJV) – 4  Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease!

Proverbs 28:20 (NKJV) – 20  A faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.

Proverbs 28:22 (NKJV) – 22  A man with an evil eye hastens after riches, And does not consider that poverty will come upon him.

Proverbs 19:2 (NKJV) – 2  Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, And he sins who hastens with his feet.

Matthew 13:22 (NKJV) – 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

1 John 2:16NKJV) – 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

  1. This morning I receive this word. I declare the timely things that God has for me, blessed and mine at their devine time. God sees and knows every one of our moves. My prayer is that we I may take the steps into Gods will every day believing he is with me and knowing there will be a reward at its time. That the seasons in my life will be the ones that God has for me, not the ones I seeked. Thank you Lord for your love and compassion to see us learn and grow. Blessed by the word.

  2. Gods timing brings everything together perfect I’m encouraged to just trust in them and let him take control

  3. God is never late to bless us. We must learn to wait for God. God know the right time to give us a blessing. We must not try to hurry God or we will not be blessed. We must trust that God will bless us. We know God will bless us at a perfect time. Every blessing comes at it own time and God know that time.
