Thoughts Of Devotion:
Everything that God provides and brings to our lives in time, will be a great blessing. God certainly knows the right time to bless us, He is never late! In James 5:7 it tells us, “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.” Sometimes we must learn the lesson of waiting on God. Do not try to move his blessing, but just wait and understand that everything has its time and moment in God’s plan for our lives.
There are people who rush, and at the end of it all it ruins the blessing of God for them. The blessing of God never realizes in their lives, because they are quick on their own strength to get it. Proverbs 28:20 reminds us that “faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” There are consequences when we decided to take matters into our own hands, instead of allowing God to work in His own way and in His divine time. Today is not the time to hasten the blessings of God on our lives, God does not need our help!
All we can do this morning is to keep trusting and hoping in Him. We cannot go running after our dreams, goals and desires the way the world does, we are very different! We completely depend on God for our blessing. And if He does not bless the things we face in life, then we do not want to have anything to do with it. Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.” We clearly understand that God wants to bless us, and certainly in His perfect timing his blessing will come.
Proverbs 21:5 (NKJV) – 5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.
Proverbs 23:5 (NKJV) – 5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
Proverbs 23:4 (NKJV) – 4 Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease!
Proverbs 28:20 (NKJV) – 20 A faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.
Proverbs 28:22 (NKJV) – 22 A man with an evil eye hastens after riches, And does not consider that poverty will come upon him.
Proverbs 19:2 (NKJV) – 2 Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, And he sins who hastens with his feet.
Matthew 13:22 (NKJV) – 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
1 John 2:16NKJV) – 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
