Taste And See

Topic: The Invitation To Taste The Blessing Of God

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Leviticus 21-23

Bible Versions:

Psalm 34:8 (NLT) —Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

Psalm 34:8 (NIV) — Taste and see that the Lord is good;blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 34:8 (MSG) — Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see— how good God is Blessed are you who run to him.

Thoughts of Devotion:

The invitation this morning is “taste and see.” First you have to try by your won experience so that you will know how good the Lord is. If you never try Him, you will not know how good He is. God has many blessings for your life, but you will have to first taste from the fountain of life, that is Christ. When you taste God, you will never desire what the superficial things the world offers. In 1 John 2:17 it says, “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

Rest assure that God is good to those who put their complete trust in Him! Psalm 5:11 says, “But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name  Bejoyful in You.” Now is the time to taste what it is to live under the blessing of God in your life. In the year 2016 the Lord already prepared beforehand many blessings, but you have to take the first step. You need give Him an opportunity to bless you! Take the step to trust and obey, so that later you can accomplish  all that God has prepared for your life.

When you experience his blessings, you will be completely satisfied. So satisfied that you will desire more of it! The Lord will be as sweet honey to your taste. Psalm 119: 103 declares to us,“How sweet are Your words to my tasteSweeter than honey to my mouth!” There will be no other way to really know how good God is, until you try it  personally! In 2016 dare to experience all that God has for your life. If you do it, you will not regret it, on contrary you will have the best year of your life.

Foundational Scriptures:

Psalm 119:103 (NKJV) — 103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Psalm 63:5 (NKJV) — My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

Jeremiah 31:14 (NKJV) — 14 I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance,

And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord.”

1 Peter 2:2-3 (NKJV) — as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Psalm 5:11 (NKJV) — 11 But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.

Job 42:5 (NKJV) — “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.
