Thoughts Of Devotion:
When God says “I will bless you”, get ready because His blessings are always overflowing, more than you can imagine! He always surprises us beyond what we achieve understanding. The promise was to Abraham, “blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.”(Genesis 22:17). God blessed Abraham in a way that He multiplied his descendants as the stars and sand, God didn’t think little, on the contrary, He blessed him big!
The primary purpose why God blesses is so we can be a blessing to others! His plan is not that we stay with the blessing but that we will be generous and liberal with what He has placed in our hands. We must give God from everything he has blessed us with and make treasures in heaven. Luke 12: 33-34 says, “Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
It is a privilege to bless the work of God and his house. When you stop to think about how good God’s been to you, consider how He has blessed you! In Luke 6:38, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” The rule of giving is that God never leaves us with nothing, the blessing will always come back! It’s like the law of sowing, we reap what we sow too! Today God wants us to be instruments, vessels of his blessing, understanding that we are blessed to then be a blessing.
