Thoughts of Devotion:

If there is something we must seek and make sure we have over  our home in 2016, is the blessing of God! This is something we as believers need to have if we want to see God’s best this year. It is for this reason that David implored from the Lord in 2 Samuel 7:29 that his blessing will remain over his home, “let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You, O Lord God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.

While the presence of God rests over our family, God’s blessing will remain! Yearning to live in obedience and complete submission to his plans, is what will increase His blessing in everything we do in 2016. The Lord promises to bless us as a family, if only we decide to serve Him wholeheartedly! Remember the words of Joshua, “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

His blessing is what will make a difference in our home for the New Year. While His presence rest upon our lives, everything that comes our way will be for our good! We see this in the life of Joseph, who despite his difficult situations, God blessed him, “So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.” (Genesis 39: 5). God desires to see our home blessed by Him, and you are God’s the instrument to bless your family. Only when we live in obedience and are seeking to please God, that His blessing will surely come!

  1. We must have the blessing of God over are family. We need him presents over are lives for we will be able to get God’s blessing over are lives. If we live and obedience God will bless are lives.

  2. Amen I thank god for the blessings that he’s has continuously pouring over my home, and for his love that fills this home. Nothing greater than having a family that serves and trusts in God.
