You Shall Be Holy

Topic: If  We Want To See The Best To Come We Must Live In Holiness

For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy…

Daily Reading Plan

Exodus 1-4

Bible Versions:

Leviticus 11:44 (MSG) — “Make yourselves holy for I am holy. Don’t make yourselves ritually unclean by any creature that crawls on the ground. I am God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Be holy because I am holy.

Leviticus 11:44 (NIV) — I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground.

Devotional Thought:

In the following days we will be taking a look at the topica of sanctification. A topic I believe is of great importance so that we may come to experience all that God has for our lives. Now more than ever its essential to know more about the process of sanctification! To understand a bit more about the topic we must know, what is sanctification? Sanctification is known as a process of renewal and consecration by which we as believers experience holiness. Just as God is Holy, He requires us to live a life completely separated for His service and purposes.

It is possible to live in holiness today! This is not just for a few, but The Lord has called us all as believers to live a consecrated life unto Him. His word requires us to walk daily in holiness. 1 Peter 1:16 clearly tells us, “because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy”. This call to holiness is one of the most challenging for us as believers. Be Holy! Today, He call us to stand out and make the difference in this world.  It is so necessary for the world to see a genuine Christianity, people that have been transformed by the power of the gospel.

We must understand that this will never come to pass by our own effort, it only happens through the work of The Holy Spirit. This work is difficult  impossible through our own human effort, it is a work of grace, that only The Holy Spirit can do in the depths of our being. God has called us, in 1Thessalonians 4:7 He reminds us, “For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness”. Perhaps in the past our life was marked by sin and uncleanness, but know we are a holy people before Him.

Topical References:

Isaiah 6:3 (NKJV) — And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”

Leviticus 20:7 (NKJV) — Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.

Exodus 6:7 (NKJV) — I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

Leviticus 19:2 (NKJV) — “Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.

1 Thessalonians 4:7 (NKJV) — For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
