Topic: God’s Best Will Come Because His Presence Leads Us
13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” 14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” 15 Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.

Exodus 33:13-15 (NLT) — 13 If it is true that you look favorably on me, let me know your ways so I may understand you more fully and continue to enjoy your favor. And remember that this nation is your very own people.” 14 The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.” 15 Then Moses said, “If you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place.
Thoughts of Devotion:
It’s when we live in the presence of God that He speaks to us and instructs us to make decisions, and take the right steps in our lives. Because there is no reason to walk without direction! God has promised to be with us in our journey in 2016. Every step we take towards our future, He desires to go before us leading the way. Just like the people of Israel experienced, “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.” (Exodus 13:21)
There are times in our lives where we do not know what decisions to make. Feelings of insecurity and uncertainty will want to fill our minds, in seeing our future. It is in these moments that we must know that God will never abandon us. What was it that helped his servant Moses when he was facing this? It was his relationship with God, he knew God in a personal and special way. Scripture teaches us that, “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” (Exodus 33:11).Moses had a friendship with the Lord! It was this relationship that made him strong and secure to carry out the commission that God had given him.
We must pray this morning that God’s presence will always go before of us. His presence is what will open doors of blessing and provision. Our responsibility is to ensure that God will go before us as the Mighty One. In Jeremiah 20:11, it tells us, ” But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail.” On this day we cannot get ahead of God! Only God knows the time and the perfect place to bring everything we want to have in our lifetime. You have to depend completely on God. If His presence goes before us, certainly the best is yet to come!
