New Things I Declare

Reflection For The New Year 2016

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

Isaiah 42:9 (NKJV)

One Year Bible Reading Plan

Apocalipsis 1-6

Bible Versions:

Isaiah 42:9 (NLT) — 9 Everything I prophesied has come true, and now I will prophesy again. I will tell you the future before it happens.”

Isaiah 42:9 (NIV) — 9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

Isaiah 42:9 (MSG) — 9 Take note: The earlier predictions of judgment have been fulfilled. I’m announcing the new salvation work. Before it bursts on the scene, I’m telling you all about it.”

Thoughts Of Devotion:

What a blessing this morning to know and experience a God that never fails. He always fulfills what he promises to our lives. With certainty we can declare that He will always be faithful, even considering the many times we have fallen short in our commitment and faithfulness to Him. As his word tells us, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13). God is a God of covenants and promises, when he determines to do something, he will surely do it! God has never failed us, others may have failed us, but God is always there to fulfill his promises over our lives.

The Prophet Isaiah recognized this truth and he would remind the people about how God always fulfills what he promises. We see how in the same way that he fulfilled everything he had previously announced, he would fulfill the things of the future. Isaiah says it in another portion, “I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass. (Isaiah 48:3). Today as we read this we must trust that if God has been faithful in our past, he will surely be faithful in our future. God has new things for us in 2016, do we believe it?

We must pray this morning so that we would have this certainty and not make the mistake of doubting, but instead believe what God is announcing to our lives today through his word. The greatest proof of his faithfulness is that we are still here today coming into a New Year 2016.God has not left us or abandoned us, on the contrary through his Spirit he confirms that we should prepare to have the best year of our lives. We believe that there are things in the spiritual that God has already prepared for us. All we need to do is trust and believe! His word has already been spoken by the Lord to our lives, let us take this promise and march with assurance to 2016.

  1. God will make his word come to pass. He will complete what he says. 2016 will be a great year for us. God will not fail. He is a good and faithful God and he will make all his promise come true.
