Daily Reading Plan
1 John 1-5
Hebrews 6:18 (NLT) — 18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
Hebrews 6:18 (NIV) — 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.
Hebrews 6:18 (MSG) — 18 We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.
Thoughts Of Devotion:
As we contemplate on God’s beauty this morning we recognize that he remains the same forever. There is no shadow of variation or change in him. He is unchanging; he does not change from one day to the next. He will remain the same for eternity. His word teaches us in Hebrews 13:8” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.“ When God makes a pact, or gives us a promise in his Word we can place all our trust in it. God is true and there is nothing false in him. Man can break promises, but God will not!
Everything that the Lord left written for us in his Word is true, and it is in no way alterable. His Word is true through the ages! In Matthew 25:35 he declares that “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” His word given to us in Scripture surpasses the limits of the present age. His word is eternal and remains; it will be with us even after we leave this world and enter eternity. Thanks be to God that we have the privilege today of keeping this Word in our hearts! There is nothing like having the truth at our reach daily. Especially when there is so much deceit and dishonesty in the world in which we live.
Thanks be to God that we can be secure that God will always demonstrate his mercy and faithfulness in our lives. When we trust Him we are like a secure anchor that will not be moved by any lie of the enemy. God does not lie in any way; the one that lies is our enemy. Jesus tells us in John 8:44 that the devil, “You are ofyourfather the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. “Let us pray today that we may be able to believe everything that the Lord has spoken to our lives. Let us not doubt even for a moment, his faithfulness in our lives. He will remain faithful forever!
Titus 1:2 (NKJV) — 2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,
Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) — 19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
1 Samuel 15:29 (NKJV) — 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man that He should relent.”
Hebrews 3:6 (NKJV) — 6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
1 John 5:10 (NKJV) — 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
