Thoughts Of Devotion:
Let us remember something very important today, we are different! Our journey here on earth is not like those who are without knowledge of God in their lives. Many of them seek many things in life, they strive to achieve things that the world offers. Seeing this, remember the Lord’s words in Matthew 6: 31-32, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”
Thank God He knows our need today! He knows we also have material needs. We understand that although we are not of this world, we are in this world! Our citizenship is in heaven! That is why we cannot worry. The Lord knows our needs and promises to supply each of them. Knowing this, you need to understand that life is not only food, clothing and everything material. In Romans 14:17 it tells us, “The kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” We need justice, peace and the joy of the Spirit! These things that the world will never manage to give us.
You will need to choose this day to seek God above all else. The search for His presence should be a priority in our lives. There is nothing more important than to seek the kingdom of God! The search for eternal and spiritual things. If we do this, God promises us that everything else will come to us as an addition. In other words, do not waste time looking for the additions, the priority must be to seek his presence! I remember the portion of Luke 10:42, ” But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Today we make the same decision that Mary made, she chose to be at the feet of the Master.
