It’s in the valley of the shadow of death that we find refuge in the arms of the Good Shepherd. Their is no consolation that can compare to the one God gives us in the most difficult times in our walk with Him. When it seems that everything goes wrong, and the enemy comes in full force against us, God miraculously intervenes and frees us from the enemy! He hides us in the secret place of his presence as Psalm 31:20 says, “You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.”
And if that wasn’t enough, the Good Shepherd prepares a banquet table in front of our enemy. Imagine what God wants to do in the middle of our difficult situation; in the middle of the valley of trial, He desires to make a great feast and celebration so you can enjoy His presence and communion. A special table covered with the best dishes, and with the most exquisite and delicate foods! Like Job 36:16 tells us, “you also depart from the mouth of the strait into a broad place, all trouble, and will prepare table full of fatness.”
Oh Lord this morning, let us sit at your table! Nothing compares to your provision. You provide for us, our soul is full and satisfied when we eat at your table. Your comfort and shelter is unmatched, we can trust that God always places great consolation for those who are in great tribulation! On this day do not let fear, doubt, and the lies of the enemy deviate you from the ways of the Lord. Remember that the valley is only for a time, the day will come when you will enjoy a served banquet table and will enjoy sweet communion with the Lord.
