Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.

Thoughts Of Devotion:
As time goes by our experience and relationship with the Holy Spirit should grow and become stronger. We should always desire to go from glory to glory! We have the great blessing of enjoying his presence continually. Knowing this, the Psalmist made a very true declaration, where will I hide from your presence! It’s not that David wanted to run from him but he knew that even if it were so, it would be impossible. The promise Jesus gave was that the Holy Spirit would always be with us, “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:17)
From the beginning it was like this, even before there was everything we see today, Genesis 1:2 declares that the Holy Spirit filled the face of the earth, “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” The Holy Spirit always desires to manifest his presence to each one of us. He doesn’t hide from us, if we search for him he will certainly manifest in our secret place of prayer. He desires to fill us of his glory and power, if we would only give him his place in our lives!
Remember that the Holy Spirit is not only an emotion, or a feeling, He is a person! He is the third person of the Trinity that abides in the hearts of those that have believed and confessed Jesus Christ. He is omnipresent, meaning he is always present! In any moment or any place, his presence is felt and manifested. Jeremiah 23:24 tells us, “Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.” Let’s take time today to raise our hearts and desire to have an intimate communion with the one that fills everything, the glorious Holy Spirit!
Jeremiah 23:24 (NKJV) — 24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.
Jonah 1:3 (NKJV) — 3 But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
Psalms 51:11 (NKJV) — 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) — 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Isaiah 57:15 (NKJV) — 15 For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
1 Corintios 3:16 (RVR60) — 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
