But Be Transformed

Topic: A Transformation In Our Lives Is Possible

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

1 Corinthians 15-16

Bible Versions:

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ (MSG)- Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Romans 12:2 (NLT)- Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Thoughts of Devotion:

This morning it’s possible to be different in this world! We are the ones that have been called to shine in a world full of darkness and evil! God’s challenge to us is that we unyoke of the things that bind us in this world, as it is declared in 2 Corinthians 6:14, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” If there is anything the enemy would wish for us it is that we never get to experience a change, a complete transformation in our lives.

On this day the enemy would like to see us stay the same, or even reverse our spiritual advancement. This will be one of the biggest battles we will face in our spiritual life. But the truth is, that change is possible! Even His Word has promised us this in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Our transformation began the day the Lord entered our hearts. From the first day, the process began and thank God we are no longer the same persons.

This transformation is an ongoing lifelong process. We will be renewed daily and formed more to the image of Christ. As Colossians 3:10 says, “and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” Today God wants us to make this change. There is no reason in staying the same day after day, year after year! This is totally against God’s will for us. Pray that daily we allow the Holy Spirit to renew us in our mind, and through his Word experience a complete transformation.

Foundational Scriptures:

I Peter 1:14 (NKJV)- as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;

I Peter 1:18 (NKJV)- knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,

Ephesians 5:11 (NKJV)- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

II Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Colossians 3:10 (NKJV)- and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
