Thoughts Of Devotion:

It is a tremendous truth when you hear people say, life is a battle! The truth is that even the Bible speaks of a spiritual warfare that as believers we will continually face in our walk with the Lord. In Ephesians 6:12 he says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” There is a whole hierarchy of spiritual wickedness coming against us daily. There is not a day that we will not face the enemy’s attacks.

It is for this reason that we must give thanks to God for his help and relief through our spiritual battle. I ask myself, what battle are you facing today? What is it that the enemy has launched against your life? One thing for sure is that you cannot face this alone, you need the help of God! Only the Lord can give certain victory against the forces of the enemy. If we trust and obey him, we will surely obtain the complete victory. In 2 Chronicles 20:17 it tells us, “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

When the Lord fighst your battles there is no reason for fear. He has never lost a single battle, His victory is assured. This morning just put your dependence on God and He will help you, He shall be your defense and your shield! We cannot trust in anyone but God. Jeremiah 17: 5 warns, “Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord.” Only God is worthy of our trust, only He win your battle. Let us call upon Him in the midst of our struggle and His help will surely come into our lives.

Deuteronomy 3:22 (NKJV) — 22 You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you.’

1 Chronicles 5:22 (NKJV) — 22 for many fell dead, because the war was God’s. And they dwelt in their place until the captivity.
