Thoughts Of Devotion:

What are we seeing this morning? What have we set our eyes on? It is possible that we may not see the promises of God made real in our lives. Our natural view only sees the present situation, what the natural eye perceives, as 2 Corinthians 4:18 tells us, “we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen: for the things which are seen are temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”Our walk with God is not based on what is seen, but on eternal things which are seen with the eyes of faith.

Every great man of God had to deal with situations where God required a walk of faith and trust, even when he couldn’t see anything. Moments where they had to go out and believe in the promises of God, rather than on what the natural eye could see. Moses, Scripture tells us, “By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27). Moses did not stare at the impossible situation he faced, he kept his eyes on God, The Invisible! He left Egypt trusting that God would fulfill his promise that he was true to his word.

We will face moments where our journey will be one of faith, seeing nothing of what God has promised. Ask yourself, what do we see this morning? We only see the problems, challenges, difficulties etc. Sometimes this is all that is before us! But faith tells us, look to the Invisible, see what spiritual eyes see. Focus on the eternal, not temporary! Let us pray to the Lord that our faith would not fail because we only see the temporal. Faith is not required for what you see, faith is required for things unseen. This morning we hear the words of Jesus, “Because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen and have believed” (John 20:29). We are blessed when we stand firm in our faith, seeing the invisible. Hallelujah!
