And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him.
I Chronicles 5:20 (NKJV)
Daily Reading Plan
1 Chronicles 5:20 (NIV) — They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.
1 Chronicles 5:20 (NLT) — They cried out to God during the battle, and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him. So the Hagrites and all their allies were defeated.
1 Chronicles 5:20 (AMP) — They were given help against them, and the Hagrites or Ishmaelites were delivered into their hands, and all who were allied with them, for they cried to God in the battle; and He granted their entreaty, because they relied on, clung to, and trusted in Him.
How we need God’s help today in our lives! Sometimes the battle is hard and difficult. We are battling and fighting a spiritual war against the forces of the enemy. An entire hierarchy of enemy forces, Ephesians 6:12 tells us, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” All these evil forces are continually bombarding our lives; they are hostile and dangerous forces opposing us.
The plan and strategy of the enemy is to wear us down, take us to the point where we are discouraged and we want to give up. That we may be filled with doubt and fear, and have no strength to carry on! At the end of the day what the enemy wants is that we would no longer seek God, where we would abandon the battle and accept defeat. Sometimes it seems that the more we seek God, the more the battle against us intensifies. The trials are greater, and the arrows are more direct.
There is only one thing you must do in the midst of battle, cry out to the Lord! Not for one minute should you think about running, or surrendering to the opposition. God promises to save us and give us victory if we seek Him! God is faithful, as 2 Chronicles 14:11 tells us, “And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, O Lord, for you there is no difference in giving help to the powerful or that have no power! Help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. “
On this day the Lord promises us, victory in the middle of the battlefield! Victory is near; it is for this reason that the enemy opposes us. Remember that the size of our battle will be the size of the reward. A great move of God is coming, but we have to take our spiritual position. This war is not won with weapons of the flesh, but with spiritual weapons. Remember Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we the name of the Lord, our God”. It’s time we rise up and fight in prayer so God may pour out His presence and glory in our lives.
2 Chronicles 14:11 (NKJV) — And Asa cried out to the LORD his God, and said, “ LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O LORD our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”
Psalms 20:7 (NKJV) — Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Psalms 20:8 (NKJV) — They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.
Psalms 22:5 (NKJV) — They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.
