I Have Not Seen The Righteous Forsaken

Topic: God’s Provision Is For Life

25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Psalm 37:25 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Mark 11-12

Bible Versions:

Psalm 37:25 (MSG) ― 25I once was young, now I’m a graybeard—not once have I seen an abandoned believer, or his kids out roaming the streets.

Psalm 37:25 (NIV) ― 25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

Psalm 37:25 (NLT) 25 Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.

Thoughts of Devotion:

The Psalmist David testified of the faithfulness of God through this Psalm. David could testify from personal experience that God would always be faithful to his children. For all generations He would not change, but remain true to His covenant, as told in Deuteronomy 7: 9 “Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.” For all the things that happened in his life, David was able to recognize that God never abandoned him, He never left him. God proved faithful to his word!

What a blessing to have this security, to be sure that God will always provide for those who put their trust and dependence on Him. In order to know that those who seek him shall not need anything as stated in Psalm 34:10, “Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” In the midst of any situation or stage in life God will always supply the means for us to have the provision for our lives. Without a doubt He will show Himself faithful to us and our offspring.

For this reason we should not worry even for a second. God has everything under control! In Hebrews 13: 5 it reminds us that we are never forsaken, ” Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” At times others may leave us during our journey here on earth, but God will never leave us! He will provide everything we need, he will show Himself faithful to the end. Therefore we trust in Him, put all our reliance on Him who has promised to be with us always.

  1. No matter what God will be faithful! He will be the most faithful person in your life. All you have to do is be faithful to him and not being Christian one day and a bad boy or girl the next day.
