Deuteronomy 7:9 (NLT) — Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
Deuteronomy 7:9 (MSG) — Know this: God, your God, is God indeed, a God you can depend upon. He keeps his covenant of loyal love with those who love him and observe his commandments for a thousand generations.
Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV) — Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
It’s important this morning to recognize that we are privileged to serve a God who always fulfills His promises. He is always faithful when He makes covenants and promises to His people. His covenants and promises are real and true today! We can trust in Him no matter how great or impossible it may seem to fulfill His promise and covenant, He will be faithful to His Word given to our lives. Despite the time it might take for its fulfillment, he will show Himself faithfull in our situation. Never lose hope!
His Word tells us in 1 Chronicles 16:15, “Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations” Glory to God that He never forgets what He has promised us. Time can go by, but God never forgets what He has spoken to our lives. Unlike us, how many times have we made the mistake of doubting and even forgetting the words that He has spoken to our lives. The Word reminds us that His covenant is forever, and His word is for a thousand generations!
We must determine ourselves today to continue to believe the promises He has made to our lives. He is a God that is faithful to His word, in his time He will fulfill every promise made to us. Just remember that for us to see this, it will take something from us! The Bible tells us that this happens exclusively to those who love Him and fulfill His commandments. We must correspond to God with our love and obedience. When we live in obedience, and love God above all, the result will be the fulfillment of His covenants and promises in our lives.
Exodus 20:6 (NKJV) — but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Nehemiah 1:5 (NKJV) — And I said: “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,
Daniel 9:4 (NKJV) — And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,
Genesis 9:16 (NKJV) — The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
Genesis 17:7 (NKJV) — And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.
