Thoughts Of Devotion:
If there is anything that we must have devotion and dedication for, it must be for prayer, communion with our Heavenly Father should be our daily priority. There is no higher devotion than having a life dedicated to prayer alone with the Lord. Being able to have quality time alone with He that can do all things, and who loves us unconditionally. What a blessing to know that his throne is always open to anyone who seeks him with a devoted heart and desires to have an intimate union with Him.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the great model of this devotion. In Matthew 14:23 we read that “…He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.” Jesus sought to always have time alone with our Heavenly Father. He continuously got up early, before dawn to have intimate communion with his Father. For Jesus, to be alone with the Father was of the utmost priority and importance! Before starting His day and to minister to the needs of the crowds he had to spend time in prayer.
His life of devotion to prayer was so impressive that even his closest disciples asked him to teach them to pray. In Luke 11: 1 says, ” Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” Today we must ask the Lord to teach us how to have this dedication and devotion in prayer. Many times we are so dedicated to everything else and do not see results, because our devotion is not in intimate prayer with the Father! Take the challenge this morning and separate some time to be alone with our Heavenly Father, certainly our lives will not be the same, we will be transformed!
