I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:1 (NLT) — And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Romans 12:1 (MSG) — So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.
The writer to the Romans reminded his listeners of the importance of living a holy and sacrificial life unto to God. His concern was for them to maintain a life separated from this world, not conforming to the things in it. Romans 12:2 goes on to say, “be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, pleasing and perfect.” All our body and being must be presented and dedicated to the Lord for His honor and glory. This is true worship!
In giving ourselves to God we come to understand two things; Firstly, we no longer belong to ourselves. Our life completely belongs to the Lord! 1Corinthians 6:20 reminds us, “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” We have been bought and will belong exclusively to the Lord. Secondly, we understand that sanctification is a process. There is a progressive aspect when we speak about holiness. Every day we are becoming more consecrated to the Lord! The text uses the word, “transformed”. The word expresses a process, something that takes time. This is exactly what happens every day to those who seek to live separated and consecrated lives unto God.
As we are being transformed in the process of sanctification we will become useful in the Lord’s hands. He will be able to use us as tools to accomplish his purposes. We will no longer be instruments of unrighteousness as Romans 6:13 declares, “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God”. Glory to God that we can be instruments of righteousness! Let us pray that this day we remain in the process of transformation. God wants to finish his work in us, if we would only allow Him to.
1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) — For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Romans 6:13 (NKJV) — And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NKJV) — Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
1 Peter 2:2 (NKJV) — as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
