The Place Where They Were Assembled Together Was Shaken

Topic:  The Fruit Of Revival Is Spiritual Power

And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Acts 4:31 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Jeremias 7-9

Bible Versions:

Acts 4:31 (MSG) — While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God’s Word with fearless confidence.

Acts 4:31 (NLT) — After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

 Devotional Thought:

The book of Acts gives us a real and living demonstration of what spiritual revival is. Each chapter of the book gives us a history of the greatest revival experienced in the history of mankind. Since its beginning, the early church experience the power of the Holy Spirit in a supernatural way. Starting in the upper room when the Holy Spirit was poured fulfilling the prophecy of Joel 2:28, “And I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons shall prophesy, and your daughters, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions”.

The fruit of revival is always demonstrated by a display of power. A power that shook the foundations of the buildings where the first disciples gathered. Even Acts 16:26 tells us that the power of the Holy Spirit spilled into the prisons “then suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened , and everyone’s chains were loosed”. Glory to God that prayer has power! When there is a genuine revival the result will be that we will be filled with the power of God.

A spiritual power to take us to boldly proclaim the Word of God. A revival in which the power of the Holy Spirit is present in our lives and ministries. The Lord has promised us in John 14:12 that we will do great and mighty works through him, ““Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father”. Today is the day to see the power of God in our midst, may God use our lives to see greater works!
