Haggai 1:14 (MSG) — 14-15 This is how God got Zerubbabel, Joshua, and all the people moving—got them working on the Temple of God-of-the-Angel-Armies. This happened on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in the second year of King Darius.
Thoughts Of Devotion:
For the work of rebuilding the house of the Lord to take place, we will need a divine intervention from God in our midst. It will take us to be open to the Lord to revive us again, and stir up our spirit. Only then will we arise and build his dwelling. In Romans 12:11 his Word tells us, “not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;”Today this is what we need, a fervent spirit, passionate to serve the Lord and fulfill the task entrusted to us.
There is nothing that compares to a genuine revival in our hearts. It is true that when there is fire and passion of God in our hearts, there is nothing that will stop us! There will be no discouragement, opposition or even the greatness of the task that stop us. We will be steadfast doing the Lord’s work as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
This is what we sincerely need today, that God will awaken in us the desire and the diligence to build. This morning I ask, what is stopping you to build the house of the Lord? Now is the time to leave indifference, laziness, and fear aside. Take the challenge of the Lord to work and make a difference and build His house! God promised us greater latter glory, a future that will be more glorious than our past. But for this promise to be fulfilled we urgently need God to light the flame and the fire of the Holy Spirit in us.
