Exodus 33:18 (NIV) — Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”
Exodus 33:18 (MSG) — Moses said, “Please. Let me see your Glory.”
Exodus 33:18 (NLT) — Moses responded, “Then show me your glorious presence.”
During the devotionals together the following days, we’ll be covering the topic of the Glory of God. I think this topic is of great importance, since we all need to see his glory in a greater way today. 2 Corinthians 3:18 promises us, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed from glory to glory into the same image, as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Praise God we have the promise that we will go from glory to glory! A glory that is growing and developing daily.
We come to see that Moses wanted to see God’s glory in his life. He knew that there was no greater experience then to experience God’s presence in a new and refreshing way. Moses wanted to know God completely in all His splendor and glory. His request was one of the highest and most sublime that a man can make to God. Understand that glory means “weight, honor or wealth of a person.” Moses wished to know the presence of God on another level and magnitude. He was not satisfied his current spiritual state, he wants to know all His glory!
Today, we must possess the same desire to see the glory of God. I wonder, what more can we want in this life? What else can be more precious and valuable than experiencing the glory of God on another level? Truly nothing compares to this! Today we must have a deep hunger and desire to see the glory of God in our lives. That we may get to experience a closer relationship to God, as Moses did “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend…” (Exodus 33:11).
Exodus 33:20 (NKJV) — But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”
Exodus 24:16 (NKJV) — Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
Psalms 84:11 (NKJV) — For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
Luke 9:32 (NKJV) — But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.
